Can anyone help with this problem I have, how I can make this work, onmouseover I would like an image to appear in a different div or container on the page?

onmouseover = "document.getElementById('divname').src = 'imagename.jpg'"
 or you could have the div hidden in which case just set style.display = 'block'

In addtion to @cfEngineers you can also have:

onmouseover = "document.getElementById('divname').innerHTML = '<img src=imagename.jpg alt='image caption'>"
