P2V linux vm converter error

Dear Experts,
I tried to convert the physical Fedora 14 64bit to VM on ESXi Version 4.1 using vCenter converter standalone client 4.3. On 99% done, I got this error "Error: Unable to reconfigure the destination virtual machine". If I uncheck the reconfiguration of the destination virtual machine, it completed without an error but when I start up the vm, I got error "Error loading operating system"
I checked the default and installed kernel verion and seems to be OK.
Thanks in advance

Hi

After convert a Linux physical machine, most of the times you need to rebuild the ramdisk installer,

If not, the VM and Linux will not boot.

Since you did not added the error or problem when you try to boot the Linux VM, this maybe is the problem.

Follow this instructions(last part of the article):

http://www.petri.co.il/physical-to-virtual-conversion-of-linux-servers-with-vmware-converter-bootcd.htm

Some times we need to make additional changes on the VM after the conversion. Change the Guest OS, the controller etc.

On that article you can check most of the problems that we can encounter after converting a Linux physical machine.

Hope this can help.
