I have an HP ML350 with a P400 256MB controller setup with Raid 5.
I want to expand the arrany but when I put in the new disk (same size as others) and open ACU, I do not get an option to expand the array.
I only get an option to create a new array.
I have updated the ACU and Firmware on the P400.
Why is this?

Battery backed write cache is required for online expansion, properties of the controller should tell you the battery status or the ADU will also tell. They're about $120 if you haven't got one.
