Enable GroupWise 8 IMAP

How do you enable IMAP on GroupWise 8? I have a customer who is using GroupWise 8 and she said that she enabled IMAP and she still cannot connect to the email account using Thunderbird. I told her to change the password. She does not know how to do this, and also said that Netware and GroupWise use two different passwords for users. I am unclear why she said this. I also ran into a problem a long time ago. A person said they could not connect to GroupWise via IMAP because of their Internet Agent. I haven't a clue why they said this. So, here are my questions:
How do you enable IMAP on a GroupWise server so that people can access their email via the IMAP protocol? Then, if Netware and GroupWise is using two passwords for an account where do you have to change the password for both accounts?
