How can I export content from a list over to another list?

Hi,
Can somebody tell me if there is a way out-of-the-box or programmatically to export the content of a list over to another list?

Thank you

there are couple of out of the box solution for this approach

like using list templates, exporting to spread sheet, using workflows, and sharepoint site content structure UI.

Check these links

You can copy data between identical lists but it is awkward. On the source list you use Actions -> Export to Spreadsheet to get the data into Excel. Then you open the second list in Datasheet mode and paste from the spreadsheet. You might have to modify the Datasheet so that the columns are the same.

You can also do this programmatically using the SharePoint Object Model (server-side) or Web Services (client-side) but this not a trivial exercise. Most organizations use third-party migration tools for this as a result.

Hope this helps.
