SharePoint 2010 Cumulative Update question

I have a new install of SharePoint 2010 Ent. I see that the newest CU is February 2011 Update. My questions:

1. Can I just install this newest CU or should I install some previous CUs first?

2. Do I have to install the Foundation update first or is it all included in the Server now?

    Accepted Solution

    1. Don't install Feb.  Install the Dec ones instead.  Feb has issues.

    2. There are various opionons on this.  To be safe, I always install the Foundation first, then the Server one, then run config wizard.

Cumulative updates are just that - cumulative. They contain all updates since RTM or the last SP. Since SharePoint 2010 hasn't had a Service Pack yet, each CU contains all the previous updates since RTM.
