Making WLM my default email handler

I need help making Windows Live Mail my default email handler.  If I go into WLM and select it as the default email handler it stays until I reboot, then I have to do it again......It there a way to make this setting persistent?

Should be able to set this in Start Menu -> Default Programs.

Yes, I did that but everytime the PC is rebooted WLM is no longer the default email handler?
What ends up being the default handler?  Is there a program starting with windows that runs in the system tray and takes association back?

At reboot, the default email handler is Office Logics our group productivity software.
This is some really terrible software.  I just installed in on my machine, and I am having the same problems you are having.  The Help for this program wont even work because it was written for such an older version of windows...  

Here is what is happening:

When you reboot your machine, Office Logics is taking the default associations back without asking the user, which is against Microsofts best practices:

I did not see any way in the application to change that.
