AVAYA - Networking Question

We have a VOIP system with AVAYA phones.

I dont know if this can be done but assume yes.

My own phone is plugged into socket A which is plugged into a Summit X250e-48p Poe switch.

We want to put on a temp for two weeks another 20 phones in a room.

Can we just add a switch to my port and connect the phones to this switch, we will use power to the phones via power adapter.

We I know we cant as it does not work.   How can I do this.

The phone is trying to connect to a VLAN10 so I made the swich port to VLAN10 and plugged into this, still nothing.

HELP:-)

I want to be able to link a Netgear GSM7248 Switch onto our excisting Summit X250e-48p Switch.

So maybe Port 5 on the Extream and port 5 on the netgear are joining the two device together.

I then want to be able to plug a device into any of the ports on the Netgear and they are part of or can see VLAN 16.

From cisco http://www.ciscopress.com/articles/article.asp?p=29803&seqNum=3
•Trunk links provide VLAN identification for frames traveling between switches.
•Trunks carry traffic from all VLANs to and from the switch by default but can be configured to carry only specified VLAN traffic.
•Trunk links must be configured to allow trunking on each end of the link.

For the Summit
https://devconnect.avaya.com/public/download/dyn/EXTR_X250e-P.pdf
set trunk 1/1,1/3,1/10 dot1q
use show trunk to see whats configured.

For the Netgear
http://www.velocityreviews.com/forums/t503781-cisco-and-netgear-switch-trunking.html

Sorry for not having more info but i have not set up trunks on anything other than cisco.
