Exchange 2003 POP3 Authentication with Full Email Address

I have an exchange server that is using a 3rd party spam filtering service that requires authentication to the pop server using their full email address.  Currently, I've telneted into the server successfully using the local username (bob) and password.  When I try to authenticate using bob@domain.com I get a failed message.  Any ideas?

No ssl, port 110, it fails to authenticate period when using telnet approach.

username/password -> works

username@domain.com/password -> doesn't but needs to

What does it mean to be "Always On"?

Is your cloud always on? With an Always On cloud you won't have to worry about downtime for maintenance or software application code updates, ensuring that your bottom line isn't affected.

Yea, i've tried this already.  I need this to work with full email address and not domain\username.

The server you are connecting too is it setup to accept full email as a login, like for example forget telnet can you use outlook or any other similar email program to login using a full email as a login ?
