Sharepoint 2007 Remove Search Function from welcome page

Dear all,

I have a query on SharePoint 207. My previous administrator added a link to the search page on the Welcome page of Sharepoint as in the screenshot.

Can you please guide me on how to remove it from the title bar?

Click on Site Actions|Site Settings
then click on Top Link Bar under Look and Feel and you should be able to remove the link there.

ok i managed to go to the look and feel page.  I then went to the navigation option. I am finding the seach function Under Global Navigation. I have 2 entries there.

If i remove it from one of them will it remove only the link or would it remove the search subsite?

this will only remove the link the search site will still be there although - people will need a different navigation to get there
