Certificate Error Connecting Exchange 2010 from Outlook

The reason for the error is our cert is for mail.domain.com     by default when you create a mail profile in outlook it automatically changes this to the server name for example exchange.domain.com

Can I change this behavior?

You could install a UCC cert and include all of the names like:
mail.domain.com
exchange.domain.com
servername.domain.local
servername

You can get 5 year UCC certs from GoDaddy for about $150.

you could try installing a self signed cert for exchange.domain.com and see if that resolves it.

I've seen it work in the past, even though, logically it should not since services are all assigned to the other certificate.
