Hello Oracle Experts:
This is really strange I upgraded oracle from 9.2.0.8 to 10.2.4 on three Microsoft Windows Server 2003 R2 Enterprise Edition and no problem. Today I follow the same procedure and I am having issues with the Database Upgrade Assistant.
I am starting the Database Upgrade Assistant by goint to START-ALL PROGRAMS-CONFIGURATION and MIGRATION TOOLS - DATABASE UPGRADE ASSISTANT.
The tool starts with the welcome screen than the second screen comes up were is asks you to select the database that you want to upgrade........... but I don't get this screen I get another welcome screen and it's blank........ this screen just hangs there not doing nothing. I tried saying next .......nothing......I tried rebooting the server..........same thing.......what's going on here can someone please help me out? I attached a screenshot ...........

Hello mrjoltcola sorry for getting back to you so late. Yes your solution did help I checked the environment variables and sure enough there were many differences. At one time this server was used as a test server so they had installed Oracle 8,9 and so on. All these were inbedded in the path variables .........after cleaning everything up and pointing everything to 10.2.4 guess what DUA came up no problem.
I can't believe it I should have checked this out first.
Thanks for your help have a great day.........
