Hello Experts, I have an Exchange 2003 organization running with 20 mailboxes. I have succsessfully installed exchange 2010, created the connector in Exchange 2003 administrative group which allowed me to send to exchange 2010 mailboxes, however when I send from Exchange 2010 mailboxes to exchange2003 mailboxes I receive the following error:
Identity: MODAEXCOMVM1\Unreachable\111

Last Error: There is currently no route to the mailbox database.

I tried creating a connector to send to Exchange 2003 server, however it did not resolve the issue. Please advise.

You have to do it in powershell
    New-RoutingGroupConnector -Name "Interop RGC" -SourceTransportServers "" -TargetTransportServers "" -Cost 10 -Bidirectional $true -PublicFolderReferralsEnabled $true

I ran the creation of the new group connector, but go the erro below in regards to the public folder referals option. I removed that option and succsessfully created the connector, all e-mail communication is now up and running betweeen the servers, but the public folders are not available.

    New-RoutingGroupConnector -Name "Interop RGC" -SourceTransportServers "MODAEXCOMVM1.MODA.local" -TargetTransportServers "" -Cost 1 -Bidirectional $true -PublicFolderReferalsEnabled $true

In exchange 2010 did you create a public folder store?  I think it does not create one by default now.
