Windows CE 6.0 Devices

Hello,
I am building an application for Windows CE 6.0 devices and currently using the emulator. I want to buy couple of those devices that are pre-loaded with Direct3D Mobile so I can do some testing. How can I obtain such devices? The devices must be a CE 6.0 and I need to have the ability to add software components according to our need.

Thank you

you have few options:

- google "WinCE 6.0 Device" and get something like that: http://www.ptshome.com/SYM-MC3190-CE-CRTP.html
- check eg Freescale.com site and purchase their EVK kit which is the board that comes with few pre-built OSes like Linux, Android and WinCE 6.0 - although in this very case of Freescale iMX51 board it comes by default without pre-built support for LCD and ethernet

So if I were you, I'd check vendors web sites like Motorola/Symbol, PSION, Dolphin, Socket and so forth.

All above assumes you're using Windows CE 6.0 and NOT Windows Mobile 6.x :)

I used to find stuff on eBay. As alexey said, identify the devices first. You can also lookup on Microsoft's site and find parters for Windows CE / Mobile development, and contact them for CE specific expertise. I forget how to get to the list of vendors, but I know it is there somewhere. I believe if you wish to purchase the Platform Builder, MS used to direct you to partners.

Thank you for your replies. I want to put a GPS system on one of these devices and the graphics is built using Direct3D. Does that narrow the search?

WinCE devices are usually 'custom' in a sense that vendors don't sell them in shops :)

In a first place, why do you want it to be WinCE 6.0? anyway, this site gives you pretty much wide picture:

Direct3D is usually checked in PB catalog, so it should be present in 90% of the devices.
