VMWare Converter Standalone on 2008r2

I have installed converter standalone and a server 2008r2 with the hopes of converting it to a vm on my esxi server.  The synchronizaiton option is not available and  it tells me it is unable to find the required sysprep folders. If I look in the folder C:\ProgramData\VMware\VMware VirtualCenter\sysprep there is no folder for 2008.

Help!

Thanks!

so am I unable to synchronize file changes during a conversion?
For windows 7 and 2008 R2 the sysprep that vmware it is looking for is in the OS not on the vcenter server. In 2008 R2 the sysprep folder is in C:\windows\system32\sysprep.
There should be 2 folders and an executable in that folder.
What are you trying to do with VMware Converter?

Have you seen this article, written by one of my fellow Experts Bestway

For the conversion steps, read Bestway's article.

You could always try installing on another Server or Workstation, and compelting a remote P2V conversion of this Windows 2008R2 server.
Hi

What files are you trying to synchronize? Do you mean edit options on the source VM and change the configuration(customize VM)?

This is only needed when you customize the VM.

Here you can check all sysprep

Also Rich Brambley from vmetc site as a solution and an article about this.

http://vmetc.com/2009/08/18/how-to-add-sysprep-to-vmware-vcenter-for-vm-customizations-vmware-converter-also/

Just for P2V proposes, take a look at my article about P2V Windows Servers

https://www.experts-exchange.com/Software/VMWare/A_3639-VMware-vConverter-P2V-for-Windows-Servers.html

Hope this can help.
