My trusty G1 lost a recent fight with a rainstorm. I need a replacement pronto but prices quoted here in Shanghai provoke thoughts about getting a more modern phone. Any ideas?
Intend to run CyanogenMod on it so manufacture's bells & whistles such as HTC Sense not an issue.
Someone showed me an HTC Wildfire last night which was lovely. As a new version is coming out soon ( Wildfire S) possibly can get one for a good price as dealers sell off stock. Or second hand
Whatever phone I get is essential am able to unlock and use the phone anywhere with local SIM cards, including data services. Gmail, Internet browsing, Googlemaps are essential apps. Am returning to Europe soon and will move between countries so phone must be able to function as smartphone using local PAYG/pre-paid SIM cards. Are phones only usable by service providers who officially support them?
Am not locked on the Wildfire will consider anything. Actually miss my G1.
