How can you find unread mail in outlook 2010? in previous versions there was an "Unread mail" tab. There isnt anything obvious in 2010.

Go to the Folder List view. From the left-side in the Folder List, you will see one of the folders named Search Folders. Expand that and you will see the Unread Mail folder.

Actually, it is also located in the Mail view as well. Same place under Search Folders. You can right-click on the Unread Mail folder and choose Show in Favorites to add it to your Favorites list.

If for some reason this folder gets remove, deleted, etc., it can be recreated by right-clicking on the Search Folders folder (as seen in screenshot above), choose New Search Folder, select Unread Mail, press OK. The Unread Mail search folder will (re)appear.
