I am working with a colleague in coming up with a suitable License Model in order to sell a new 'Dashboard' style application.
I have not had to come up with this before so thought I would start with EE to see if anyone has had to do this or can offer some suggestions.

You need to decide whether you will use 1 licensing model or combine licensing models.
The simplest is per user license. The single node perpetual license is conceptually quite simple from both the vendor and client perspective, and is easy to manage.

Then you can have a multi-shared license which gives managers a means to share expensive software without having to share physical computers. Although multi-user licenses are typically more expensive than single user licenses, the enhanced value to the consumer justifies the difference.

but it depends on your software though .... You always need a time limited trial before anything else.

You could also use the new trend and have a monthly subscription if the application if something which in 2-3 years from now the user will not use and move on ....

I am no expert, maybe someone else can provide more information but generally you need to decide with your partner.

If it is for home users I would go for trial, per-user and multiple user licenses. (3for price of 2 etc).

If you have a server application on your hands you might wanna consider per seat or per  CPU licensing as well.
