Monitor Citrix Access Gateway (CAG) with SCOM


We have a Citrix Access Gateway (CAG) that we would like to monitor with Microsoft SCOM.
We would like to know if the CAG is alive (ping) and if the web interface (logon) is running.
Also we would like to se if the users is able to logon through the webinterface.

Hi there, you can download and import the Citrix Management Pack from the Citrix.com website that will allow monitoring of your Citrix environment.

If you want to enable ping and web interface monitoring, then this is quite simple to do too.

For Ping (ICMP), there are a number of ways you can achieve what you want.

You can either create a monitor yourself using the 'Authoring' tab that will check for availability of the CAG,

Also, if you enable SNMP on the device, you could use the SCOM Community SNMP Management Pack, downloadable from here:


Finally, for web page or application monitoring, you can create a web application monitor from within the SCOM Console Authoring tab which will give you either basic up or down information on the web page or even allow you to record a web browsing session on the logon page that will tell SCOM to simulate this as part of it's monitoring process and report back with access times, latency etc..
