Clone/ghost virtual machine (Windows XP Pro)

Hi Experts.  I am using a Windows 2008 R2 server as a hyper-v server while we construct our true virtual environment (VMWare) later in the year.  I have a virtual machine running on the hyper-v now and rather than go through the process of building another virtual machine, I thought I would ask how I could image/copy/virtual ghost/etc the existing virtual machine.  I appreciate your help.

If you want to bring into a virtual environment you can use vmware standalone converter.

So what you are doing now is not wasted because you can use either VMware Standalone Converter later to convert to VMware.

Thanks for the help guys!

I split the points 50/50 because the first answer covered a lot of what I was looking for but the second answer gave me the material to implement that software.

If anyone wants to contribute to a second question I had on virtual servers.
