could not remote to server after patching

Good morning,
Last night, I patched the security updates to some server and I could not remote to one server. Please give me some hints how to solve it. I google but could not find the solution.
Thanks

I had similar problem with patching one of my W2k3 servers last weekend.  After applying 15 patches and rebooting, I could not RDP although I could ping.  Assumed it was hung on the reboot for some reason so asked a local contact to check.  Not sure which patch of the 15 it was.
Do you have a local contact to see if it did indeed come all the way back up after patching?

this is a virtual server. I reboot several times but still could not remote to this server. When I opened it on vShpere, it is up

Can you ping?  Perhaps the IP number has changed.

Perhaps slow to come on line.
We have several ESXi servers with various versions of Windows running on them and we notice that they tend to go to sleep.  Best definition I can give I guess.
Using vSphere and clicking on the console of the server will wake it up.  Still new and strange to us too!
