Google search returning UK & AU, but I just want USA

Recently I have been greatly annoyed that Google is returning many UK & AU sites.
I just want USA sites.
For example I google "house scaffold cost" and the first 10 sites are in the UK.
Following bad advice I looked up my IP address and it says I am in Pensacola FL,
I am actually in the midwest using Mediacom.
Is Google falling apart?
or is there something I can do to just get USA sites?

I made the same search here in California and I see the same. If you don't care to see results from these sites, you can try removing them from the search. I did so and the listings didn't show up afterward.

house scaffold cost -.uk -.au

Thanks for trying that query,  that is useful info.
Now how do we get Google to sort results by balancing relevance and distance. ;)

I am leaving the question up for a couple days to see if soemone else has an idea other than -.uk -.au.

As an append, you can also include the search to be...

house scaffold cost *.com

... to deliver .com results, which are not necessarily going to be USA sites, but that will eliminate all the other sites that do not have a .com tld.
