Can you send change notifications on a folder and not the whole document library?

I have a document library with some folders. There is one folder I like to have notificatoins sent out where there is a change to a file in this folder. Not in any other folder in the library. Can this be done?

    Yes, just open the drop-down menu on the folder, and select Alert Me.

    Even though it is for SP2007, it still applies for 2010.
