Windows Vista Updates

I have an HP laptop with Vista Home Premium, I am getting a Code 643 error on several windows updates that have failed. I have run a complete scan with malwarebytes and removed all infected files, I am still having the same problems. Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated,

Other info: Google Chrome is currently installed and is set as the default browser. I am also unable to install iTunes on the unit.

you can try sfc /scannow, or a repair install :
      http://vistasupport.mvps.org/system_file_checker.htm            SFC in Vista
      http://www.bleepingcomputer.com/tutorials/tutorial148.html      repair Vista

Fix WU might fix the problem

If needed :

Try this - Control Panel - Windows Updates - on each Update that will not install - Click the Important Updates
or the Update itself - double click one then click View More Information (or click on it then View on right side)

Those will take you to a page where  you can download the update. Or go here and put in the KBxxxxxx number
to download it.

Microsoft Download Center

Download - SAVE - go to where you put them - Right Click on - RUN AS ADMIN

Then you can Right Click on the Update in Windows Updates and HIDE.

If you get an installer error install this version :

Windows Installer 4.5 Redistributable

Then run these :

If needed you can get free incident reports however the above should take care of it for you.

Go Here and Click -> Windows Update fails while scanning for, downloading, or installing updates

Hope this helps.
