After effects composition settings

Hi Experts, I have some video taken from Canon camera. with the following settings as attached on the photo video size
 If i render it as .avi file. the movie result will be too slow. Any settings or format that you can
suggest? If i render it as mp4 format the quality will be lower :(

Why "too slow?". Do you mean time taken to actually do the render, or that the result doesnt play back at the correct speed, or that the avi result is ok but jerky on playback (maybe due to slow disk access?)...
Ive no experience with A.E though... If youre on a PC and your renderer supports .wmv output, try that? I use canopus edius on PC to render diff cam formats and have found wmvs to be a good trade off between quality and file size. I use orig settings for height & width & choose 2.3MB/s bitrate. But they do take a while to render. (not for a 2s file though surely!, Im talking about 2hour long clips.).
