SBS2008 64BIT FAX SERVER AND WINDOWS XP

I have a problem with shared fax on Windows XP Clients. I can install
the faxprinter driver and it shows ready for use.

After a doubleclick on the icon of the faxprinter starts the faxclient.
But then I cannot see any faxes in the inbox or anywhere else. The
Faxclient shows "All Faxprinters are unreachable".

The faxclient at the Small Business Server 2008 shows all received faxes
correctly.

You will need to connect to the fax differently:

1) Stop the Spooler (net stop spooler)

2) Copy the following files from 32-bit Windows Server

2003 SP2 system setup as a Fax Server:FXSAPI.DLL,
FXSDRV.DLL, FXSRES.DLL, FXSTIFF.DLL, FXSUI.DLL,
FXSWZRD.DLL into the following directory on XP Client
%SystemRoot%\System32\spool\drivers\w32x86\3. Allow
any files that exist to be replaced.

3) Restart the Spooler.

And then install some 32 bit drivers: http://technet.microsoft.com/en-us/library/dd346629%28WS.10%29.aspx

OK, I think this will answer your question:

http://blogs.technet.com/b/sbs/archive/2009/10/23/considerations-when-managing-the-sbs-2008-fax-queue-from-windows-xp.aspx

It's a limitation of using XP with SBS 2008 but following these steps should fix the problem.
