As far as I'm aware, ISAPI and CGI are the interface to which web services run. In other words you create web services (using applications like C, C++, Delphi) that interface with the web server using ISAPI or CGI.

Does it mean that web services uses CGI and ISAPI techniques for implementing their functionality. If yes then is there any other technology web services uses.
But i heard that web services uses XML + HTTP + SOAP. What about .net web services, are they uses CGI or ISAPI internally?
In what different langaues we can write web services?
