Cannot connect locally to new Exchange 2010 server

I have a new Exchange 2010 server with some mailboxes on, but cannot seem to connect with any LAN client (tried 3 so far).  OWA /works/ internally, is the weird thing (from the same clients that can't connect using Outlook.  I've tried manual and automatic configuration.  Outlook 2007 tells me:

"The Action Cannot be Completed.  The connection to Microsoft Exchange is unavailable.  Outlook must be online or connected to complete this action."

During automatic configuration, a login box pops up like it WANTS to connect, but it still gives the error...

I DO have a public (CoGdaddy) UCC cert installed on the server.  My clients do have a default gateway... I can successfully ping+nslookup the exchange server (and the GC server) and the domain name.. I've even tried setting up Outlook with RPC settings and it still gives me the error!

Please help!!

I've also run DC Diag from the GC server and it passes every test.. BUT if I run DC DIag from the Exchange server, it fails a few... does that matter?  Here's the 3 it fails when I run it from the Exchange box:

      Starting test: DFSREvent
The event log DFS Replication on server
server.office.mydomain.org could not be queried, error 0x6ba
         "The RPC server is unavailable."
         ......................... SERVER failed test DFSREvent

      Starting test: KccEvent
The event log Directory Service on server
server.office.mydomain.org could not be queried, error 0x6ba
         "The RPC server is unavailable."
         ......................... SERVER failed test KccEvent

      Starting test: SystemLog
The event log System on server server.office.mydomain.org
could not be queried, error 0x6ba "The RPC server is unavailable."
         ......................... SERVER failed test SystemLog

(all other tests are passed).. not sure if that matters?

Have you tried manual account setup in outlook? actually specifying the server etc?

Automatic configuration requires the setup of autodiscover service to be working.. a bit more about that here:

Yes, I have done manual set up... and I've tried using the RPC settings in manual set up as well.

I figured it out.. fixed it by adding a HOSTS file...
