Vista and Later Terminal Servers (Including 2008 and 2008 R2) have an extra layer of security in which it will not allow an older version client (which it deems less secure) to connect.  This may be your problem.

If you go into Remote Settings where you first enabled Remote Acces, you'll see 3 options under Remote Desktop where in XP and 2003 there was only 1 checkbox.  You want to make sure you have the middle option selected which says "Allow connections from computers running any version of Remote Desktop (less secure).

Hope this helps!
