Excell - zeros in front of the number

Quick question - can should I format the cells to it accepptsw zeros in front of the number?  No matter what I try it remove 0's and leaves just a number...  Drives me crazy
Please advice.

Depends on how many digits you want.  To always display, say, 5 digits, with leading zeroes if need be, use a customer number format of:

00000

Custom format.  Got it.   Is there a way to tell excell to accept whatever numbers you typing without ANY modifications?
