activedit causing javascript error which won't load the HTML editor window except in IE 6

I wrote a content management website for a small company about 6 years ago and used a CF tag called Activedit instead of the text area boxes so they could update their own content and minor HTML formatting.

Now the site isn't able to be udpated and it looks like it does work only with IE 6 but not the later browsers.

I'm wondering if there is a quick fix to this or if anyone knows of a way to update either Activedit or I guess to run IE 6 from the client's machine in order to allow them to update their content?

The error is saying that editjs.cfm can't be loaded and the "Automation server can't be loaded".

Which version of ActivEdit are you using ? It is open source now and there is NO further development on it .. the last version available is 5.

we are also using AE 5 along with CF 4.5 on some of the servers and it works on all the browsers, including IE 9 and FF 4...
Another thing is that you might look into FCKEditor integration, basially the same but it is a better editor..
