Losing network connectivity after windows update

I have a gateway LX6820-01 and since about mid April I lose network connectivity every time I try to apply windows updates.

After the updates, the adapter shows it's not connected via IPv4 and v6, media state shows it's enabled, send and receive activity is 0.

When I ipconfig only the Tunnel adapter shows up.

Any thoughts?   Only way this machine is usable is if I use Windows Restore to roll back to a snapshot from 4/19.

if you go into  windows updates then check for updates
then select view optional updates
look for an update for you network device
right click on it and select hide update
this will prevent a update to be applied to your network adapter untill you can figure out which program or device is coflickting with your device in device manager is ther a yellow  triangle around the network adapters

Actually that helped.  I thought I had looked at the device manager weeks ago but when I looked tonight it was indicating an issue with the anti-virus software I use.  I removed the software and network connectivity was restored.   I then updated that software.   All seems good for now.

Thanks for the tip!
