IE 9 - closing the last open tab ?

I'm using IE 9. When I close (control W) on the last open Tab it shuts IE. How can I prevent that?

I also check "Put tabs on a separate row" which I do not regularly do. Ctrl-W still closes IE9. It is just normal behaviour. ... Thinkpads_User

It is the last open tab, so I think that is simply normal behaviour for IE9. Remember it is a new browser. I checked three of my own machines and they all work the same way (Ctrl-W closes IE when closing the last open tab).

It is a new browser with a new way of tabbing, so no, there is not a setting to change that. ... Thinkpads_User

You can always look in the Tabbed Browsing Settings in General in Internet Options. I ran through there and Advanced Options prior to posting and do not see any setting to help you but you can look there as well.

From my perspective, IE9 is handling browsing and tabs more effectively than it predecessors, so if there is a modest change in the way it works, I can easily adapt to that. ... Thinkpads_User

Thank you. Sorry I could not come up with a way, but IE9 is brand new. Thanks again.
