WSUS Console 3.0 Error Message

The WSUS administration console has encountered an unexpected error. This may be a transient error; try restarting the administration console. If this error persists,

Try removing the persisted preferences for the console by deleting the wsus file under %appdata%\Microsoft\MMC\.


System.InvalidOperationException -- Client found response content type of '', but expected 'text/xml'.
The request failed with an empty response.

Have you tried to follow this advice:
Try removing the persisted preferences for the console by deleting the wsus file under %appdata%\Microsoft\MMC\.

Yes first thing I did. Error message still persist.

Also forgot to mention I'm running Windows 2008 server 64x.
You can try to install WSUS console on your workstation and test - is problem in console or in server.
Does this error occur when you do something specific, or just when you open the console?

This sounds like a .NET timeout error.  Have you made any changes to .NET components on the server?

Happens when I open the console. I haven't made any changes to .Net components.
Have you followed als315's suggestion and tried the WSUS client from a different system?

Resolved issue by uninstalling and reinstalling WSUS.
