Citrix XenApp 6 Errors -

Since our Citrix Install, been getting the same error. No matter how many times I try building from the begining.

The installation goes fine, but when testing launching an application from the client plugin or web browser I get the following messages:
1 - "citrix online plug-in could not contact the server"
2 - "The remote server failed to execute the application launch request. Please contact your administrator for further details."

I have installed hotfixes XA600W2K8R2X64002.msp and XAE600W2K8R2X64018.msp.

When I create a notepad application it starts launching but hangs on "Starting Notepad \\remote"

Can anyone help....

Please create a site for PNagent (xenapp sites and services) and check if you are able to launch application without using WI? Verify IMA service is running on the notepad servers. Check XML broker servers are up and running.. See event logs for errors.

Can you send us a screen shot of the Notepad Location properties page from the published application properties?

Hi Basraj,

Sorry to sound a bit stupid, but where can I check that the XML broker is running. As I cant see it within the services.msc.
The "Citrix Independant Management Architecture" (IMA) Services is running as Network Services account.

I already have a PNagent (XenApp Services Sites), but have created another to test with. But the same issue.

notepad location doesn't have a proper path. Go to browse: c:\windows\ and select notepad.exe

working directory will have c:\windows

Hi Carl,

Im still getting the errors after the change, but in event viewer on the server I get this message:

Site path: C:\inetpub\wwwroot\Citrix\PNAgent.

The Citrix servers reported that they are too busy to provide access to the selected resource. This message was reported from the XML Service at address http://CITRIXAPP01:80 [com.citrix.xml.NFuseProtocol.RequestAddress].  [Unique Log ID: fe4cf7af]

Can you run Notepad from the regular Web Interface site now?

Did you create a Worker Group?
Does the Worker Group contain any servers?
Is the Worker Group what is assigned to the Notepad app in the Servers page of the Notepad app properties?

Ran Notepad from Web interface, I get this error on the web page when clicking notepad: "An error occurred while making the requested connection."

In the server event log I get:
"Site path: C:\inetpub\wwwroot\Citrix\XenApp.
The Citrix servers are not licensed to support workspace control. This message was reported from the XML Service at address http://CITRIXAPP01:80/scripts/wpnbr.dll [com.citrix.xml.NFuseProtocol.RequestReconnectSessionData]. [Unique Log ID: 54cc0707]

and also error:
"Site path: C:\inetpub\wwwroot\Citrix\XenApp.
The Citrix servers reported an unspecified error from the XML Service at address http://CITRIXAPP01:80 [com.citrix.xml.NFuseProtocol.RequestLaunchRef]. [Unique Log ID: ad56ef39]"

The server is licensed with Citrix licenses and TCAL for microsoft.

Server worker groups contain the server and are assigned to the notepad application..

Disable Workspace Control.  Don't have a XA6 server available but it is in the Web Interface site and one of the Actions available.

ahhh, the now infamous license server error.  Sheez, I wish Citrix would publicly release the updated license server for this issue.  I would call Citrix support and raise hell to get license server 11.6.1 build 10009 (10007 is what you have).  build 10009 is supposed to resolve this issue.

I have attached a screen shot from the licensing server component.. Does this help?

Carl WebsterCommented:
Sorry, on my screen I can't read that graphic.  Your license configuration may be fine but what is happening is that the license services aren't working properly.

harps21kAuthor Commented:
Carl,

can I download build 10009 from anywhere on the net. As we do not have Citrix Support...
0

Carl WebsterCommented:
Nope, available ONLY from Citrix support.  You might be able to call Customer Service with a license issue and see if they can get it for you for free.

harps21kAuthor Commented:
Hi Carl,

I quickly read that build 10009 is to fix the licensing service when it stops and does not start up. But our licensing services is running under services.msc. Would this patch fix both issues.

Carl WebsterCommented:
There are numerous licensing issues with XenApp 6.  Build 10009 is suposed to fix all of them.  Your services may be running but they may not be responding.

Did you verify the 3 resolution steps from the article I sent earlier?

harps21kAuthor Commented:
Yep the link you sent earlier. I checked the 3 steps and all ok.

harps21kAuthor Commented:
Sorry pressed submit before I finished. Still getthing the error's, but the 3 step look ok,

Also, from a command prompt, if you run qfarm /load, what are the results?

I see there is a very long thread on this issue on the Citrix support forums:

Checked that link...

The Only solution after reading 12 pages was to install hotfix 30 which has now been superseded by hotfix 40... None of which are available for public release...

Can anyone send me the hotfix 40 from Citrix site. Please PM me...
