Two versions of cognos on the same machine

I had a machine with Cognos ReportNet 1.1 MR3 installed and working fine.
I followed instructions from the following page to install and configure IBM Cognos 8 BI *8.4) on the same machine.

I followed all directions correctly (or at least I think I did).
When I go to:
I see my original ReportNet UI with contents.

When I go to http://localhost/cognos8, I see the same UI as the Reportnet but without the links or pics or dropdowns.

I am using Apache as my Web server.
I am using the same content store DB (Oracle 10g) with two different schemas for both the instances.

Any idea what I did wrong here?

    Accepted Solution

Not sure what you did wrong but looks like port numbers are conflicting.
    1. Make sure the shutdown port number is different in 8.4.
    2. Make sure the dispatcher uri  port number is different in 8.4. If reportnet is using default 9300, you have to use 9301 or something different for 8.4.
    3. Make sure the log server  port number is different in 8.4.
    4. If pictures are not showing, check IIS for 8.4 and make sure read and browse access is given to 8.4 webcontent alias.
