To enable telnet on windows 2008 R2 64 bit Enterprise server, their is a telnet client & telnet server option in server manager under features, add features. i have enabled telnet client on both win2k8 servers but still unable to telnet  (Could not open a connection to host on port 23) Do i have to enable telnet server, on both servers, or all my servers for telnet to work??

Did you double check the firewall and ensure the port is open if it is?

Also, if you are just wanting to connect to the 2008 server, you need only configure the server portion. The client is if you wish to connect to a telnet connection on another system.
