Need a wireless HP printer that will support both printing from iOS and RDP

I'm looking for an HP Printer that will work with printing from iOS devices (iphone, ipad) directly, has built in wireless interface, and can work over RDP/VPN.  Envy works great from iOS, but I can't get it to work over VPN (I think it's "host-based").  From this document, I think the Officejet 7500/8500 series might work, but I'd like to get confirmation form someone who actually has one of these printers and has used it in both these ways.

Can anyone verify that they have done this?
