Thanks sigurarm, &nbsp;thanks exactly what I'm thinking... using the countours of an existing map and placing my own landmarks and reference points on it. &nbsp;I understand what you mean about copying someones work and to clarify I'm using the existing map as a reference to plot the contours of the coastline.<br />

I'd like to show dangerous surf &amp;&nbsp;current areas on a custom map. &nbsp;I'm thinking of highlighting the shore area with a band of colour to indicate risk areas. &nbsp;The area will be about 20 km or so.<br />
<br />
At the moment it seems like the best solution is to create it in Photoshop or Illustrator using an exisiting map and just modifying it until it becomes my own art work. &nbsp;Before I go down this road, does anyone else have a better idea? (besides putting a pin in a google map, that wont work)<br />
