How Do I resolve Oracle Refresh Error ORA-0311: end-of-file on communcation channel

Hi there,
Am new to Oracle and am asked to do a fresh on Mincom Ellipse Database on Oracle. I've been given two different scripts to run, one is to be run if the first one fails to open the database. I've attached both scripts and the setup of instructions to take as txt files. What I did is;
1. Copy the database files from Production Server (Ellprd) over to the Test Server (Ellpre)
2. Ran the script Script1.sql
3. Issue commands after the Script1.sql script has been run as per the log file (i.e RECOVER DATABASE USING BACKUP CONTROLFILE until CANCEL; ALTER DATABASE OPEN RESETLOGS; etc; etc, see instructions text file)
4. Then ran script2.sql as the database didn't open when I issue Command ALTER DATABASE OPEN; (as per the instructions)

After running the second script and tried to open the database again (with command ALTER DATABASE OPEN;), its giving the message "ORA-03113: end-of-file on communicate channel

Need urgent assistance Refresh-Instructions.txt
Script1.txt
Script2.txt

Hi Infra,

Your 3113 error is very common and generic. It only shows us you lost the connection with your database.

First thing you should check is why you lost the connection. Is you db down ? Is you network/listener down ? etc...

Cheers,
P

I suggest you use script1.sql since you're changing the name.

Also, in pfile change the parameter remote_login_passwordfile to ‘NONE’

Copy the necessary archivelogs to the same location on the test server.

RECOVER DATABASE USING BACKUP CONTROLFILE

ALTER DATABASE OPEN RESETLOGS

Lastly, you'll need to create new tempfile

ALTER TABLESPACE TEMP ADD TEMPFILE ‘path/<filename>’ REUSE;
