AOL Mail Deletion Problem

I normally open my AOL email account using Firefox 3.6.16. The number of unopened mails are shown in the Firefox tab that indicates I'm in AOL. Normally, when I open  or delete  mail, the number in the tab decreases. When all mail has read (or deleted),  no numbers remain in the tab.

Within the past several days, however, even if all mails are opened or deleted, the number 1 remains in the tab. More specifically, as I open mails, the number decreases until the last mail is read or deleted, but still the number 1 remains.

The only way I can get rid of this number is to reload the page.  The problem occurs even using IE or my work (as opposed to home) computer

I'd say that the problem is AOL-systemic, but am wondering if there's anything I might try on my end to fix it. Any thoughts?

Thanks.

this is sometimes just a glitch in AOL, if you've deleted and viewed all the unread mail and it still showing (1) then its to do with AOL glitch.

Maybe these help links can help.

also have you tried emptying your spam and deletion box.
