Hi

We have recently applied ssl in our asp.net site. In one page of this site we are saving a .txt file and then allow user to download it. It has been working fine after implementing SSl too, but i do not know whts hapenned few days before that despite of downloading .txt file it downlods .html file. If we run the site without SSL it downloads .txt file, but if we run it on ssl then despite of downloading .txt file it downloads .html file. Waiting for your valuable replies.

Hi,

There should not be any valid cause other than the paths for SSL and NONSSL dir are different!

How are you creating the txt file? Are you specifying text/plain as content type?

Madqino: I tried your solution but doesn't work. Actually it is something else. I already told u that this issue created some days ago automatically. It is working fine even after implementing SSL.

Faraz: We implemented SSL on all the pages of our website, so there is no page without SSL.

You need to provide more info: IIS version, OS, authentication type, how you create and download the files, otherwise is difficult to guess what's wrong

Sorry for late reply,

IIS Version: 7
OS: Windows Server 2008
Authentication Tye: Not known (which authentication type you are asking)

I am using the StreamWriter to write contents in the file. I do not think so there is any issue with the code, if that the case it should also not work with http. This issue only arises when we run the application with https.

This issue is occuring due to a cache clear code we recently applied on master page. When we remove this code, it starts working fine.
