Error when implementing a witness sql 2008 server

   i have a mirroring Database, i am trying to implement an witness server.

I get the following error.
The ALTER DATABASE command could not be sent to the remote server instance.
Verify the server is connected, and try again (Mircrosoft SQL Server, ERROR:1456)

I have checked the Witness server is online and can ping it from the current server.

    Grant the logins connect permissions to the endpoints!!!

    Hmm...tried everything but exactly the same error.
    The site was nice.
    took a new backup and help?
