Display issues

We have a HP 6545B laptop which sits on a docking station with an external 22inch monitor connected.

This has worked OK for several months.

Now, the screen drags. This particularly happens in Excel. It is as though the screen is stuck and the text is repeated down the page. We can easily scroll right down and back up to make the screen "unstick" but it happens much of the time.

I have updated graphic drivers on laptop and drivers for monitor. Same issue.

Screen shots attached.

Shot 2 is how the excel document should look. But it sticks and we get the image of shot1.

This is until we Page down > Page up and the screen returns to normal. Shot2 Shot1

Try removing the split and save the file
Close the excel
Open the file again and test

We have another user with the same setup (same laptop, docking station etc)

These excel files are on a file server which both users access.

The second user reports that everything is working OK on his.

So I guess it must be on your laptop.
Did you try changing the resolution (try lower resolutions and higher as well). I hope you tried this already.

Just to make sure you login to his laptop and test if anything changes

i am thinking that it might have to do something with the flow of information between the server and the laptop or another application eats some memory...have you run any malware software on it?
