PASSWORD RECOVERY - CISCO 2851 (Mutliple IOS bin files in the flash)

WE are attempting to do a password recovery on a CISCO 2851 router.

the process is simple, but need a little guidance on how to handle the rommon part where we copy the startup config to the running config.

This router (in production mode) is running firewall services so there are commands that are for that piece.

When we boot into rommon mode, we get errors when copying form startup to running.

I think that the reason is there are 2 IOS bin files in the flash directory and guess that it boots to the first one, which is just IP services or something like that.  so the commands the normally apply to the IPsec services ios load fail in the IOS load.

Is there a way to get the router to boot in rommon mode using the right IOS load that will allow us a safe copy form startup to running.

ok, you need to boot with c2800nm-advipservices9-mz.123-8.T5.bin

If you not need the other IOS you need to delete is, if you need it I advise to rename it,...
