The meeting is not showing on the calendar, however the room will not accept a booking for that time slot. If I log on as the Enterprise Domain Admin, I can see the calendar event in outlook, however I cannot delete it - the error states that I do not have permissions.

You need to adjust permissions so you can.  You can use ESM or EMC (depending on your version of exchange) to change permissions on the calendar so that someone has access to delete events.

We are using Exchange 2007 - can you please provide the command-let that is used for this and I will look up the syntax?

Not sure about shell.  Are you on SP1 of ex07?  There should be a public folder tool that will allow you to set permissions.

One question before I jump down the rabbit hole - I did not set these up as public folders, they are Room resources that have a calendar element - are they still considered public folders?

Ahh!  I'm sorry.  I got your question confused with another I am working on.  Please forgive me.

In Exchange 2007 you can just highlight the resource and select the "manage full access" action on the right.  Add your user and you should be able to delete anything you need.

Sorry again for the confusion!
