Emails from a single recipient getting stuck in local delivery queue.

I have started having a crazy problem with emails from the same single external recepient getting stuck in the local delivery queue? If it is addressed to multiple users, some of them receive the email OK when always at least one does not? At first it was always the same user not receiving the email so I thought maybe thier mailbox was corrupt, but now a different user did not receive this recepients emails when the other user did? It's been driving me crazy for about a week now, but like I say it's always from the same recepient only?

Any Ideas?

Can you Increase the diagnostic logging of "MSExchangeTransport" and see if you get any warning or error in event log
How to Configure Diagnostics Logging
http://technet.microsoft.com/en-us/library/aa996402(EXCHG.65).aspx

Diagnostic logging of "MSExchangeTransport" - Store Driver ,Check for Event Id 327

--if you are getting Event Id 327 for corrupt mailbox then probebly you need to take the Backup of above user mailbox using Exmerge then delete and recreate the above mailbox

OK, after making this change I did start getting this Event ID 327 in the event viewer, saying LocallyDeliveryMsg to the store failed...but it doesnt say which mailbox it is failing to delivery to? And nothing new is getting stuck in the queue? And all from the same domain?

OK, it looks like these are just the messages that are currently stuck in the queue?

Yes, you are correct the event 327 is for messages that are currently stuck in the queue .

Now Plan of Action :
Run Exmerge Take the Backup of above User data in PST ,then delete the user’s mailbox and create a new one and check the issue .
a) Exmerging all contents of user mailbox to a PST
b) Deleting mailbox on the Exchange server
c) Recreating mailbox on Exchange server
d) Exmerging contents back

OK, that was pretty much my plan of action, but it through me for a loop when an email came in today from the one recipient that was delivered successfully to the above user, but failed delivery to a different user?

You have one more option ,you can also resolve the issues by running  isinteg -s ServerName -fix -test alltests

Action Plan :
Take the Backup of Exchange Database
Dismount the Store
Run isinteg -s ServerName -fix -test alltests to fix the logical errors on the database
Mounted the store and check the issue

--For ISINTEG activity you need to Dismount the information Store (User will not able to access mails during this Time)

Are there any disk space requirements to run this like there are for eseutil? And do you have any timeframe benchmarks on how long this will take to run?

Viral RathodConsultantCommented:
It is possible that there might be issues with one or mailbox ,Please recreate mailboxes for all the problematic users.

Viral RathodConsultantCommented:
Nope ,there are no disk requirement ,also if you are going to recreate the user then time frame depends on the user mailbox size ,for isinteg it may take approx 4 to 8 hours.

OK, I think I may try running isinteg first tonight and see if that resolves the issue, if not I will then try recreating mailboxes...
