SharePoint Website URL Redirect/Rewrite

I'm not too sure how SharePoint handles the page redirects... here's my problem:
I have a website with 2 domain names pointing to it...

http://domainName1/  redirects to http://domainName1/Pages/default.aspx
http://domainName2/  redirects to http://domainName1/Pages/default.aspx

I want it to always redirect to domainName2 instead of 1. Is this a SP setting or IIS.. any ideas?

    Accepted Solution

You can achieve this using Alternate Access Mapping
Depending on your version of SharePoint you can go to Central Administration - > Operations ->Global Configuration -> Alternatice Access Mapping

You can enter just the new domain.
