BT or Virgin Fibre Broadband

Both are 10mb fibre broadband
Both are 18month contract
BT £13
VIRGIN £13.50
BT has free wifi hotspot access(BT FON) and a router hub with USB connection - good for setting up a NAS

Based on this it would seem BT would be the better choice due to price and additional functionality. Can anyone comment on network reliability and customer service? Thanks

I cannot comment on BT's fibre services but Virgin Media offer very consistent speeds and offer very good support generally, BT's ADSL services are only UP TO and not usually a guaranteed speed but Virgin's are guaranteed.  Virgin engineers in my experience are usually available to visit your home to investigate faults quickly and without cost where as I think BT charge for engineer visits especially if they do not find any fault.

Virgin also offer the vstuff backup service for online backups which would cost around £5 a month usually, webmail (based on gmail) and webspace.
