My iMac Keyboard reproduces key function symbols in the screen and get blocked.

The function keys: fn, ctrl, alt, cmd reproduce their respective symbol in the screen, in white and make a sound as typewriter. The computer responds in rare ways. If a tyepe the key two more times the symbol disappears and the computer works well again

    Most likely you have accidentally activated Universal Access.

    Check out: System Preferences > Universal Access > Keyboard. Put Sticky Keys and Slow Keys to Off.

    Also check out: System Preferences > Keyboards > Universal Access. Turn off keyboard shortcuts you know you will never use.
